Acne scar prevention and treatment

Up to 80% of teens and those in their twenties suffer from acne. 5 per cent of older people also struggle with the problem. It is possible to receive treatment and recover without any scars being left but this is not so with some people who are left with ugly scars.  Scarring is bothersome as it leaves some otherwise beautiful skin unduly rough. Mild scarring can easily be dealt with skin care products and medications but some scars require the patient to undergo surgical procedures together with skin coating.

Early scars

Early scars are left after an acne lesion heals. The healing leaves redness on the skin which is not actually a scar but a skin change due to inflammation. This inflammation is able to heal in a half a year time provided no more acne develops around there. A scar that remains after a year period can be regarded as permanent.

Early acne scars prevention

Acne lesions are responsible for the inflammation that later develops in to scars and therefore, preventing occurrence of this lesions is the best way to prevent early acne scars. This requires managing the causes of acne in the first place.
